YOUTH WITH A MISSION is an international movement of Christians working to see the Great Commission fulfilled as stated in Matthew 28:18-20. Founded in 1960 by Loren Cunningham, it is now one of the largest interdenominational and international Christian ministries with 16,062 volunteer staff (and thousands more affiliated workers) 1,166 facilties in 171 countries as of August 30, 2006.

Youth With A Mission's work in Haiti has three locations, Saint Marc, (birthed in 1991), Gonaives (birthed in 1998), Jacmel (birthed in 2005). Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Haiti focuses on three main ministry gifts, Evangelism, Training and Mercy Ministries.

YWAM Haiti's National Strategy is a 7-7-7 plan, 7 spheres, 7 cities, 7 nations. Using Evangelism, Training and Mercy Ministries we look for oportunity to gain infleunce within the seven spheres or sectors of a society, Family/Social, Religion, Government, Business, Education, Media, and Celebration (Arts/Entertainment). Through Christian infleunce and practical biblical teaching in all seven sectors we believe we can Disciple a Society, Cities and Nations.

Our goal is to accomplish this in seven cities (Saint Marc, Gonaives, Jacmel, Les Cayes, Hinche, Cap Haitien and Port-Au-Prince) thus accomplishing the Great Commission as it relates to the discipleship of Haiti as  a nation.

Yet, God has called us to look not only to one, but all nations! Therefore, we are also desiring to send transformed Haitians to the nations to apply the same strategy. We have seven target nations to reach from Haiti (Dominician Republic, Jamaica, Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guyana, Benin and Mexico).

All YWAM volunteers are true volunteers. From our National Director to our general staff, no staff of YWAM recieve a salary or income from the organization. All, including Haitian staff seek God and invite family, friends and those of common vision to join in their personal support to continue in YWAM.
