Today the Discipleship Training School (DTS) left for Jacmel after spending two weeks in Gonaives, below is a report concerning their time there. I believe you will find that God is truly imparting into these students the anointing to spread transformation through the nation!
The DTS felt a desire to perform a prophetic act in the city of Gonaives. They would clean up the city park as a demonstration of how they believed that God wanted to do spiritually in the hearts of the people of Gonaives. As they roamed through the park picking up paper, bottles, glass they prayed; “God clean this city!” As they continued in their act of intercession and spiritual warfare they were approached by the local media asking them what they were doing. As they explained who they were and why they came to the city the media asked if they could broadcast this information to the city as they had not heard of such news!
One of the local School Director also took note of the cleaning of the DTS and invited the DTS to the school. They not only taught the students that it is all of our roles to keep our city clean, but they need to realize that it is out of a clean heart before God that true change can happen.
They were also given an opportunity to pray in City Hall. It was a powerful time of praying for Gods presences, wisdom and healing to come in and through that office. While there the Mayor came and was touched. As they closed their prayer time the Mayor then asked them to please pray in her office. Once the team of 28 people pushed their way in to the office and prayed, it was obvious the Mayor was touched deeply. She was asked if she would like to accept the Lord as her personal savior. She responded that she wasn’t sure yet, but she was strongly considering it.
The team also went and prayed in the Police Station. While there a leading gang member who had been arrested over heard the DTS sharing about God. Upon listen through his prison cell he decided to make a personal plea to God. Accepting Jesus as his personal savior he was profoundly touched. The next day the Judge called him to court and asked him what he thought about the charges brought against him. He confessed that he was guilty with a profound since of humility. The Judge knowing who he use to be noticed the change of heart and asked him what had happened. He explained how God had touched his life through the message of the DTS and during their times of prayer. Amazed the Judge sat back and then decided to release the man saying; “We need this to happen to all the gang members!” The gang leader then went directly to YWAM Director Maula Jean-Marie. He then explained what God had done in his life and asked for direction on how to live as a new Christian!
In all 86 people made a life changing decision to follow Christ and turn from their former ways! Needless to say it was an amazing, transformational two weeks in the city that is normally known for rebellion and violence!
Please keep the DTS in your prayers as they are in Jacmel tonight. On the way they were stopped at a police check point. Unfortunately we had misread our papers and our insurance had expired. Using the time to share what God had been doing with the police, they decided that they should release the team with no penalties. Once again the DTS has been seeing favor.
