This year’s SST program was definitely something special!
Quick reflection of the fruits!
1. Over 250 people touched with the message of the gospel!
2. 116 bibles distributed!
3. 61 people accepted Christ as their personal Savior!
4. 120 homes visited!
5. 34 Youth changed for ETERNITY!
Our tools and methods consisted of drama, dance, testimony, preaching, cleaning street, home visitation, games, bible distribution and teaching.
God showed us and the youth in a physically and spiritually way that He has a destiny, even a plan for these youth! 17 of the 34 teenagers in this years SST programs have committed themselves to complete a Discipleship Training School (DTS) by 2008. Three of these are now in our DTS that began this past Sunday, September 17. Some of them cried as they began to make their way back home from SST. WHY? They too, just like the three, wanted to continue directly into DTS.
Some might think, as we were also tempted to think, the reason they were crying as they began to return home was the thought of leaving the comfort of the YWAM Jacmel center. Yet, upon reflection this year we had the hardest outreach ever, suffering some of the most challenging difficulties, in regards to past SST’s. Even during set up we had our truck break down, which we still have been unable to repair, we also weathered a hurricane during the outreach. This made things very challenging! Yet amidst these storms of challenge, God gave us peace. We saw God begin to temper and work in and through the hearts and minds of the youth. What ever original motivation they may have had when they came to SST, it was lost in the midst of the realization of God being manifested in and through their obedience. They didn’t want to leave because they had found their destiny in Christ at our campus!

“I have no father, so at home I can’t find the love I think every kid should have. My mom always asked me what my goal in life is. What is my dream? I never answer her cause I did not have one. I didn’t have a father to look up too. After a teaching with pastor Maula on Father Heart of God I have learned that I had a father that has always been there for me. Now I have an answer to take back to my mom: I want to be a World Changer.”

“SST has changed my life and I still can’t believe it. I was leading a life that I could call hidden prostitution. I had a club of friends that were older than I. They lead me into some stuff that is difficult to talk about. Since I was eleven, I have been doing immoral things with other girls. I had even promised myself I would never get married. I participated in the first SST phase and found myself wanting to give up this kind of life but I did not have the strength. However, in SST Phase II the new intensity with the challenge of how my lifestyle was hurting God’s heart and design for me gave me the strength to turn. God has changed me! I am sad to leave after graduation SST I and SST II. My wish is that I was old enough to do DTS now, but I must wait another 3 or 4 years…please pray for me! |

“I am a little girl that never had any kind of affection at home. Sometime even feel rejected. That creates in me an attitude and a hard face. I had never forgiven neither have I ever asked for forgiveness. I was always mad and furious and lived like no one else matter but me. Sometimes I was confused and I almost surrendered myself to prostitution. I was even on my way for that life of destruction before coming to SST. Praise God I did this program and I am already accepted in the DTS. I have learned a lot, but I think its nothing compare to what I am about to learn. I am ready to give the rest of my life to God”

Georgette Pierre-Louis is in Discipleship Training School (DTS) currently. We believe with her for the tuition of $2500 USD needed! Could you HELP!
This youth program, Summer School of Training (SST), is a big part of our ongoing ministry to the youth. Lives are being changed radically! Youth are dedicating their lives to missions and the cause of Christ! We want to thank all those who invested in prayer and financial giving to see these youth released into God’s destiny!
Thank you again from all the staff!

Prayer and Needs:
1-Please pray for three of the SST students that have just joined us for our first DTS in Jacmel. They have a financial need of $2500 USD each. Here is a link so that you can learn more about our DTS http://www.ywamjacmel.org/Discipleship%20Training%20School.htm
2-During SST we used our YWAM National bus. This bus seats 29 passengers, more than adequate to meet the need for transportation during SST. However, the bus engine began making a loud noise as we passed through the mountains. Now it appears the bus needs some major motor work. Would you join us in prayer for the finances needed to make the necessary repairs? This bus is used by YWAM Haiti to transport YWAMer and other missionaries throughout Haiti and even to the Dominican Republic. It appears it will now cost several thousand dollars to be up and safely running again.
3-In addition, with the potential we have to minister to the forgotten teenagers of Haiti, we invite you to join us in praying and giving towards future transportation that will be needed for the next SST. We already see a potential 100 youth in next years SST programs! We are believing God for one of these two:
a) a large 40 passengers bus (possibly a diesel school bus).
b) or 3 fifteen passenger vans.
If you would like to give towards any of the needs mentioned about or to YWAM Haiti in general, please make your checks payable to YWAM Haiti with a note concerning how you desire your contribution to be used and mail to:
