Urgent Prayer Request! We have an urgent prayer request and would like to call on all our faithful prayer warriors!
Terry, the National Director for YWAM Haiti and Illioney, our St. Marc base director, are both traveling to PA on a very significant fundraiser trip for the ministry. This trip has been in the planning for a long time now and many people have been working to make this possible.
They leave tomorrow (Tuesday October 10th) early afternoon; they were both diagnosed this morning with Malaria. Yes, you read that correctly. Among our staff and children numbering around 30, they were the only 2 who have come down with this potentially deadly disease. This is highly unusual. In all our years here in Haiti, we can recall only about 3 cases of Malaria among our staff. Speaking of warfare!
Both Terry and Illioney have been having flu like symptoms for about a week now and after Terry passed out on the bathroom floor early Sunday morning, it was time to see the doctor. There are several strands of Malaria you can contract in this country, some fatal, some not. This is one of the more potent strands that will wreck havoc on your body and is fatal if left untreated. They were both given medications to treat the Malaria virus, but the medication is so strong and almost makes one feel worse than the disease itself. So we are sending out 2 very sick staff members tomorrow, in faith and as an act of warfare; we are NOT going to put up with this.
Please pray for traveling mercies; please pray that both Terry and Illioney will recover quickly and that this disease will not leave any permanent damage to any organ in their bodies, specifically the kidneys and liver. It usually takes a while to regain strength after such an attack since the Malaria destroys liver and red blood cells. We ask for a miraculous healing for both of them; please join us in prayer and warfare. This is only one in many attacks of the enemy as of late but definitely the most serious one we have encountered. Join us in prayer as we know that breakthroughs are near!
Taking the high places!
On behalf of all our staff,
Ingvild Snow
