I would like to call your prayer support for the up coming elections in St. Marc. This is late getting out because many people have been wondering if the elections will truly happen, but it appears they will. The elections are for municipal positions in the local cities, towns and villages. Although we have always seen God work through past administrations in Saint Marc, we also recognize that some of these administrations have either slowed our efforts of transformation through the church. As I said to one group of people yesterday, if the right people are not elected it doesn’t mean that YWAM or God will abandon St. Marc, but it will make an impact on how the river flows, fast and strong or slow shallow.
Elections will be taking place December 3, Sunday. So I would like to ask that you make the request known in your local churches. Pray for;
- Peace
- Fair and true elections
- God’s people for God’s work to be placed in office.
Also, we are feeling God’s leading to assist in bringing hope to the hopeless and a smile on many faces this Christmas. We have come up with a plan to feed large number of people while boosting the economy. We would like to ask you to pray about purchasing a plate of food for the poor this Christmas. For just $2 USD we could provide a very nice Christmas Dinner for one of 5,000 people in our neighborhood. The food preparation will be arranged by local cooks and restaurants and tickets will be given to individuals that will be recipients of your gift, with directions on where they can receive their FREE Christmas Dinner.
By purchasing food and hiring the local cooks in the community we will not only bring a smile to hungry faces, but we will also be boosting the economic structure of our neighborhood. $2 will bring a two fold blessing, the filling of a hungry stomach and needed income for local businesses!
How many Christmas dinner could you provide to share the gift of love? The average family size in St. Marc is five. So, for every $10 gift you are basically feeding a complete family this Christmas!
