Dear Friends,
The third night - It rained again! Yet the people still came. It was an extraordinary night as there were times of intense singing and then times of intense weeping and crying out to God. At one point Evangelist Joseph Telor called for Heaven to come down. When he did all went quit and he repeated it once more. By the third time some outburst of cries came forth from different areas of the arena. Then quit and once more Evangelist Telor cried out again and people began to cry. The moaning and cries were so loud it was near deafening. This went on for about 10 or 15 minutes. As I looked up at one point I saw tears streaming down peoples faces and Evangelist Telor laying on the stage flat on his chest crying for the presence of God to come.
I felt impressed that I should begin to intercede that this experience would not be felt here but through out the St. Marc district, everywhere that there was a TV set or radio with people listening. These meetings are being televised live on Dynasty TV (Most popular station in St. Marc) Radio Delta (One of the strongest signals in St. Marc reaching to 7 of the 9 departments of Haiti and broadcasting on the internet) and Radio Tet a Tet (also a popular station with a strong national signal). We are estimating that we are reaching 350,000 people nightly with this event now.
The fourth night – We saw no rain. Although it looked for sure rain was coming, yet the clouds turned, perhaps due to many prayers. With no rain we saw another record number in attendance. There was no place to stand. Our little bit of security could not hold back the large numbers of people that slowly inched their way to the stage, on the stage and all a round the stage. It became so crowded that there was no place to sit on the floor.
I spoke for about 10 minutes concerning sanitation. All are responsible to keep our city, our house, clean. Just as we, Youth With A Mission, have been removing trash in the city, so it is with the heart of God. He wants to remove the trash in our lives, sin! He wants to clean our hearts and send us out to tell others and clean our city. The trash in our city is it a reflection of what is in our hearts?
Pastor Telor responded with follow up to this message by making it a center piece for his message. To Rebuild the City (our theme) we must allow God to clean our hearts and we must demonstrate our faith by cleaning our city.
About 50 or more came forward last night to receive Christ and more came forward to receive prayer for healing. One man unable to sit up was carried on to the stage and laid in chairs during the preaching. While the preaching continued he slowly gain some strength and sat up. There has been no direct call or prayer for healings but it would not surprise me if God didn’t begin to bring forth amazing healings as a demonstration of what he desires to do in Haiti.
One last exciting note: An offering was taken on the third night to go towards three projects, Restoring the City Park, Cleaning the City and Building an additional Security Check Point. We received $755.00 USD. Yet the fourth night there was no offering, but the offering boxes were there and people spontaneously came forward at the end of the service and began to drop more money in them. We have not had time to count this money, but the way people are responding in giving is often a reflection of how God is touching them. This may not seem like a lot of money, but do not look at the amount only but the heart giving. This is exciting.
