Expansion
Building any new facility is a challenge that is filled with excitement! Recently there have been many problems with corruption and over taxation. As a result the prices of things are rising. We are normally able to clear trailers fast and at a reasonable price but this time the task is slow and the taxation is very high. We are pursuing a tax exemption but it is a long and tedious process and can be very discouraging. We need your prayers to see this exemption rapidly go through the systems. Yet, despite all these challenges, God is making way and we continue to build!
New Sanctuary
In January we moved into our new Sanctuary. How exciting! It is not extremely large but can seat 150. This two room facility is set up very practically with a large, open main area and a technical/sound room in the back.
We are already utilizing this building seven days a week! Every morning at 6:00am you will hear praise songs to jump start the day and then a full prayer, worship, or intercession time beginning at 7:00am before the DTS continue on with their classes at 8:00am.
Discipleship Training School (DTS) holds classes and lectures in the morning and our Men’s Program, lead by Freeman Nettles, have their classes in the afternoons, Monday through Friday.
You may see or hear one or more groups practicing drama or music any given evening. My daughter Elizabeth, only 15, is now leading a small group of teenage girls in a dance group, having their meetings and practices there.
Every Sunday we run a children’s program organized by my sister and brother in law Shelly and Freeman Nettles. Each Sunday night new faces are seen as we hold our service open to the community.
This center is also equipped with video conferencing equipment. Next to the President of Haiti, UN office, and one hospital, we are the only ones I know that have this equipment and working technology! We are soon to begin beaming in and out messengers and messages LIVE and INTERACTIVE! WOW! Is this Haiti? I would like to thank personally a businessman from Lancaster County, PA, for making this dream come true.
New Resident Staff Housing
Along with finishing up the Sanctuary, we are now expanding our resident staff housing. This new housing will give our resident staff families a much larger living environment and open up more housing for our single staff.
The new house is a duplex that will provide 1800 square feet of living area per unit, versus the 600 square feet we had available before. Can you imagine a couple with a small child living in 600 square feet of dwelling space? It wasn’t easy but now the St. Fleur family will soon be able to enjoy this new space.
On March 3rd a group of 30 volunteers from Pennsylvania will be coming to do a major push to see this house completed. They will also be involved in a variety of other projects from teaching in our DTS to other improvements on our campus and around the city!
